Scary halloween maskGrant Moxom – young and promising media artist from Sydney, Australia took an advantage of TrueConf video conferencing technology for his project on creation of, literally, an animate game character.

Grant works at the intersection of media and live performance, using audio and video equipment to put audience and performers in a discussion rather than in a monologue. Ratava (based on Avatar movie) is his latest project.

Grant’s project – Ratava debuted on Knox Street Bar’s first birthday celebration in Sydney. Ratava is a remote control Android-based simulator, which blends video games with real life. To give control over the player’s character gamepad is used which sends commands for execution. The player can also use a microphone, voice modification software and a PC with TrueConf application for A\V communication.I want to play a game… 1 Players should complete various in-game quests, play games and cause chaos.

Lucille Spielfuchs, one of Australia’s leading avant-garde burlesque performers, became the main character of the game. Ratava being one of her works is highly eclectic and unique. Lucille Spielfuchs shows include edgy stories, developed characters, explosive costumes and an innate sexuality.

Lucille Spielfuchs commented on the project on her Facebook account:

“Ratava debuted last night; a remote control android simulator – blending video games with real life to celebrate Knox Street Bar’s first birthday. Co-collaboration between Grant Moxom and Lucille Spielfuchs. Special thanks to TrueConf for their kind donation of part of system and Memphis Mae for organizing the event.”
